Did you see the typo?

Monday, August 25, 2025

Dr. Dayna Method/Workplace Wellness/Did you see the typo?

Did you see the typo in last week’s newsletter?

I didn’t, of course, that’s why it went out with a typo. But there’s a meaningful message in the typo. Sometimes we wait for things to be perfect before proceeding. And sometimes that effort to be perfect stops us from actually proceeding! It’s an important skill to learn to proceed imperfectly, to accept that a few typos are better than no newsletter at all.

Notice if your survival brain is yelling at you at all.

It might be saying, “What!? No, absolutely not. You should always find the typo before sending it out. Someone will judge you!” Please thank your survival brain for trying to keep you safe. But having a meaningful life means getting messy and making mistakes. Our goal is simply to make NEW mistakes rather than repeating the same ones! We will experience discomfort when we choose to be imperfect. But experiencing discomfort is the ticket of admission to a meaningful, vibrant life.

So, this newsletter may have another typo (hopefully a new one and not the same one as last week!). But we’re sending it anyway because our team feels sharing this information is more important than getting it perfect.

Come on! Let’s go make some new mistakes together!

In your corner,
Dr. Dayna
