"How can we coach proactivity in teams?"
This question was submitted to our team as part of our People Problems initiative — where we invite leaders to share the real workplace challenges they're navigating.
In response, we developed our newest manager playbook: How Can We Coach Proactivity in Teams?
This manager playbook addresses a common leadership challenge — how to support team proactivity without creating confusion or resistance.
Using our Team Matrix framework, it offers a series of concise video lessons to help leaders define what proactivity means, what it looks like in action, and what gets in the way.
Below is a short clip from the manager playbook, demonstrating how to use the Team Matrix to clarify proactivity in behavioural terms. It introduces a key mindset shift: if you want your team to change, you need to define clear actions, not just broad ideals.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “Why can’t my team just be more proactive?”—this manager playbook is for you.
