May is Mental Health Awareness Month. But we’re tired of just talking about awareness so we’re going to get into weeds with what to actually DO to support employees with mental health problems
I am often asked about how to do mental health accommodations. I often hear managers say things like:
"I know what to do if someone has a broken arm, but what do I do when they tell me that they have depression or anxiety or OCD?"
Usually they are well meaning but seriously lost as to how to accommodate a mental illness.
